Design Thinking!

The subject of this blog is design, more specifically, design thinking. Wikipedia calls design thinking, "a process for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues, that looks for an improved future result."

When most people hear design they think pretty, as if you can slather on the pretty only after the "real" thinking is done.  That is an indicator that some other kind of thinking is going on (like analytical thinking). Design thinking tends to be more holistic (I like the misspelling "wholistic" better), creative, and projected toward improvement. The keywords here are holistic, creative, and for improvement of something. I'd like to add, fun.

One thing that designers tend to do, that non-designers do not do is draw. This isn't a hard and fast rule, of course, but using drawing to think ("thinking with a pencil") is closely allied with design for some reason. Most design fields (architecture, engineering, graphic design, Web design, etc.) use drawing for a variety of purposes.

So, that is what InquisitiveDesigner blog will start with: design drawing.

Let me know if you like it!
